One of Snapchat’s many entertainment features includes “Snapstreak”. With Snapstreak, you commit to sending at least one photo or video to someone within 24 hours each day. The goal is to achieve the highest streak score by maintaining the daily exchange.
Snapchat sends an alert to its users when they are about to lose their streak (near the 24 hour mark). But sometimes, your streak can’t be maintained. If this happens to you, read on to find out how to get your streak back.
In addition to restoring your Snapstreaks streak, our FAQ covers more answers to your questions about Snapstreaks.
Things to know
Before proceeding with the recovery process, let’s first make sure that you have a valid claim.
Maintaining a Snapstreak requires two people who work together every day to send Snaps. Here are the things you need to do to keep Snapstreak going:
- Send a Snap to your friend at least once in 24 hours – a message, photo or video won’t count as Memories.
- Receive and unlock the hijacker from the same friend within the same 24 hour time frame.
- Send and receive Snaps from the same person – a group message won’t count.
Assuming you have followed the rules and you still lose your Snapstreak streak, you can get it back by following the above steps.
NB: If the Snapchat app was recently updated or you notice that Snaps are not showing as read (or some other flaw), take screenshots and save them to your phone gallery.

How do fonts work?
A Snapstreak streak is formed when you and a friend exchange Live Snaps (not chats) within 24 hours for more than three consecutive days. Once you exceed certain font limits, you will get these unique emojis:
Fire emoji: This sign will appear after the three-day mark to confirm that you’re in the Snapstreak.
100 Emoji: This tag appears once you’ve been on Snapstreak for 100 consecutive days.
Mountain emoji: There is a mystery to this award because Snapchat has not confirmed its threshold.
Snapchat users have claimed to have seen him at some point during an exceptionally long streak.
All emojis are displayed next to your partner’s name on Snapstreak, with the total number of streak days. If you miss a day, it will be reset to zero.
You will continue to see different emoji throughout the Snap series. One thing to watch for is the hourglass icon, which indicates that Snapstreak is about to expire. If you want to continue, send a quick snapshot to your friend or have them send it to you.
What doesn’t count in Snapstreak?
The following five types of interactions will not count towards your Snapstreak streak:
Chat: A text chat between you and your Snapstreak partner will not count towards your streak.
– Group Chats: Snapchat will not include snaps set to a group chat towards Snapstreak. Snaps must be sent on an individual basis.
– Stories: Daily Story recordings will not count towards your Snap Series, even if your friend has viewed the Story.
– Spectacles: If you use Snapchat Spectacles to send content to your chained friend, this will not increase your Snapstreak.
Memories: Sharing Memories with your consecutive friend will not count as an interaction with a Snap streak.
To keep the Snap streak going, keep things simple. Send photo or video content to each other only.
Is there a Snapchat support number I can call?
Unfortunately, Snapchat does not have a support phone number. To get answers to questions and resolve bugs, you’ll need to contact them via “call usWeb page.
Will Snapchat support help me get my Snap streak back?
It all depends on why you lost Snapstreak and whether or not your claim is justified. However, there are a lot of users who have restored Snapstreak by following the above steps. If you unfairly lose your Snapstreak streak, it is very likely that the company will return your Snapstreak.
Should I tell Snapchat I saw an hourglass timer?
This is a common question, and based on what we’ve seen, it’s best to be honest with the company when filling out the survey. For example, if you see an hourglass icon but can’t reply with a Snap because you don’t have mobile service or there’s a problem with the app, be sure to tell Snapchat.
Keep your Snap streaks going
Snapstreaking not only keeps you engaged on the platform but also potentially brings out your competitive side. The platform helps display a numbered line and reminders when the hijacker hasn’t been sent within 24 hours. If you’re wondering how you stack up, check out who currently holds the record for the longest Snapchat streak.
While you and your partner may be in your A-game, issues out of your control, such as connection issues, can pop up and may result in Snapchat termination of your streak.
Fortunately, in a lost streak scenario, where neither side is at fault, you can ask Snapchat to get your streak back and pick up where you left off.
